Realistically if our two loan players do well....we won't be able to buy them as they'll be 40M each...

Are we building for the future or painting over the cracks?

I'm excited for this season, but maybe Frank just wants a bigger job and is only worried about this year and that's it?

We're not big enough to have £40m players on our books. Just try to enjoy watching decent players rather than stressing about 2018-19 season.

A ball hasn't even been kicked yet and people are twisting.

Just like they did last Summer

Both, IMO last season exposed our weaknesses and the manager had a new philosophy which Parish wants to embrace.

We don't have the funds to fix and change everything in one window but frank obviously wants to change us via a revolution rather than an evolution. And to be fair evolution didn't work under Pardew hopefully doing it this way will work.

But we don't have the funds to buy enough of these types of players hence playing the loan market.

If he gets us a comfortable top half finish playing attacking football with a much better home record and we beat the weed home and away he can go after a year with my blessing!! Fat Sam came in for only 5 months and did the job he had to do.
Personally I'm only ever bothered about the coming season, I might not be around for anything passed that!! Plus managers know whoever they are they could only be a few defeats on the trot away from the chop so why should they care about anything too far in the future?

1) Every manager is eyeing a bigger job.
2) I don't think we have huge amounts of money. We gambled in January blowing the majority of this seasons budget and I feel Frank has been tasked balancing the books this season. Then next season, Frank (or his replacement) will have funds to reduce the average age of the squad.
3) this is a gamble for Frank aswell. If this goes well, his stock will rise again. Fail, and he will find it difficult to get another top flight job. It's only so long you can count on your Eredivisie successes. Just ask Steve McClaren

Unless of course a fee was already agreed as part of the loan agreement ! That can be fairly standard these days.

That's if the owning club don't really want them at all whereas in our case they're seeing how well they do. Do well and they may take them back or sell them to the highest bidder. Don't kid yourself promising youngsters are promised to us if they perform for us. These aren't loans between 2 big guns of Europe.

Totally agree with this
Stability would be nice, more money would be nice, better players and facilities would be nice BUT lets not get ahead of the fact that we constantly seem to like to surf the relegation wave.
season at a time is all I can think about.
