Cheesy as it sounds. The memories and events that take place in or while living in a house are what you associate with it. For me that's what makes a home.

Definitely. I keep an eye on the market to see if my old flat I rented (twice) during the 2000's comes up for sale - because I loved living there, and have so many memories of events there.

But home is also where ever the people you share your life with are (in my case my wife and cats).

Not My Home
(Eliza Gilkyson)
This house has windows it has walls
This house has doors that lock and shadows lurking in the halls
This house has mirrors that don’t tell
All of the dirty lies that turn a house into a living hell

The people in the house, family loved ones...without any of those it's just bricks and mortar.
