A player that gives a 100% when on the field , his strengths lie in chasing lost causes, he didn't have the greatest of season last year only scoring 2. Never been majorly prolific but a decent back up option for Benteke.

Steve Coppell signed him for Reading for a paltry amount.He was reputedly one of thew quickest players in the Reading squad. One of those players who works very hard for the team, chasing lost causes and putting defenders under pressure.And he has a very good leap on him. Pardew said last year that Long had a reputation for going to ground too easily.

Different option but a bit of a journeyman. Quincy Promes would be my ideal choice can play anywhere across the front line.

I would have him at palace in a heartbeat. Works his socks off and will play anywhere he's asked too. I'd imagine he would want to be first choice if he does move though

The exact type of alternative striker to benteke who also would be tremendous playing off him if we ever played two up front. Not sure he'd be interested mind unless he thought he'd be regularly chosen as main striker. Which he won't. Hmm Then there's Southampton who I doubt will want to sell anyway

They have been very inactive in the 'Transfer Market' in pre-season their only signing being defender Bednarek for £5 Mill. Edited by Willo (30 Jul 2017 7.50pm)

Problem is similar at Palace. Be a reserve unless Benteke injured. I feel we really missed out on jay Rodriguez, can operate from left and as a striker. 15m in this market would be a snip, just had a lot of injuries.
