Don't we kick off in a few weeks? Look at my posts I am very happy and expressing lots of positive confidence, but we still haven't actually 'signed' a new CPFC player, we just got L-Creek on a loan but that's great. But you know what I'm visualising now... (Pulis leaving in a huff). Hope this is just a negative thought. Lots of positive rumours about Chambers, Wiltshere etc, but with our recent history of F@CKING OFF MANAGERS! I am starting to feel a little unchilled. Someone please post back that I'm just being a panicking old fart.

It's not as if the club is not trying to bring players in. They have been unfortunate with a few bids and they have had to move on. It's about signing the right player(s) that FdB believes will improve our squad. If they are not available or too expensive, perhaps we are better off without signing anyone at all!!!

Just chill guys. We've got a good squad. Even if we brought not one more player in this window, we've got enough to survive. Plus I have every confidence Frank will bring a couple more in. And that's probably all we need. Last thing I want to see is 7 players come in and changes the whole vibe of our team. After all, what is palace if it's not Dann, Wardy, Cabaye, Puncheon and Wilf etc.

Chin up.

You mean the squad that nearly got relegated last season, minus potentially the most influential player (Sakho) trying to play a different brand of football. I'm still positive but we do need new blood to freshen up the squad and up the quality.

As one old fart to another, I share your concern. IF thevReiderwald deal udoes get itself over the line, plus Chambers, Martins and der Wield were all to come off, then I would be a happy old fart. There isva whole minth to go before the end of the transfer, so plenty of time to go....but patience isnt my strong suit!

Quite right. We have a decent first 11, but squad...nah!

Even if we were going to play the same system as last year we are still short up front and Campbell and Remy need to be replaced plus we desperately need a new central defender and goalkeeper too.

Unfortunately we look as if we will be playing three at the back plus a couple of wingbacks and we currently don't have the personnel for that system and need a right wingback in addition to the other requirements.

I'm not panicking as I'm sure that things are going on the background that we don't know about but I'm certainly not complacent either

Good post, you got it about right. Fortunately Parish does seem to be supporting FdB in the market and its usually the case that ,SOME of the rumours do,come off. Quite optimistic about Chambers for example

I also am quite confident that Chambers will come in and I still reckon either Riedewald or Martins Indi (preferably the latter) will join us as well.

Holers it's quite clear that you all like signing "names" regardless of how they would fit into our team.

But just like Sakho did, Frank is allowed to make the current lads better footballers.

This in turn will mean we do not need to sign a complete new defence.

Which many of you seem to think we need.

Looking forward to the West Brom practice match.

COYP.

I'm not normally one to get on this kind of bandwagon, but I think panicky old fart or not, it's transparent that we definitely need some signings.

I'm not stressing quite yet as I hope a few will happen soon. I'd panic if we started the season with what we have now though. I honestly don't think we could survive with this squad even if they gave 100% all season and we had no injuries, but I'm also trying to keep a bit of faith that we'll bring at least two more in.

My head says we need more than 2 though given that we've shed some squad players as well as Sakho.
