The interesting point is that the deal allegedly collapsed after months of negotiations so it seems that the shareholders are willing to sell to Chinese investors but only if the price is right.

It's a business, of course they will sell if the price is right. The exception to that is likely to be SP who, as a fan as well as an investor, will hopefully ensure Palace's best interests are looked after.

Personally I would hate it if we were owned by the Chinese even if that meant we could afford the £50m players.

It would seem so. I suspect it may be pragmatism on the part of SP as he knows that to do what needs to be done with our infrastructure would require a massive injection of cash that the US investors are unwilling to front. Five seasons in the PL, a decent first 11 and the appointment of a top manager and perhaps he thinks he's taken it as far as he can?

It would seem that their cash helped to balance the books in January, but that appears to have affected our spend this summer. They're investors so inevitably they want to see a return on their money. The problem is that our infrastructure requires a much larger injection of cash than it would appear they're prepared to put up.

Interestingly, the article in the Sun (i know!)
[Link] has the following paragraph:

But the consortium appear to have been hampered by a move from the Chinese government which is aimed at cutting the amount of wealth leaving the country.

The state has become concerned at the huge levels of investment groups are making overseas, particularly with football clubs.

So they have introduced measures to restrict the amount of capital that wealth funds can secure for non-Chinese ventures.

That meant SNIMC suddenly found it harder than expected to release funds, limiting the amount they were able to offer for Palace.

Sounds like we'll be safe from the Chinese then!

I can see loads of reasons for US investors to want out but for Chinese investors to want in.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

Every club is "for sale" at the right price.

Remember 2010 are reluctant owners they only bought as nobody else would. It appears the Americans will also sell at the right price.
