With us now looking to play a possession based, high press approach...and a with a squad in need of a creative midfielder...do we think that he may be worth a gamble? His ability is undeniable, however his injury record is of serious concern...how would you guys be if we got him for say £15m? Would it be a gamble worth taking?

Hmm, the responses to this suggestion could go one of two ways. I have a hunch they won't be positive.

Which is fair enough..was just wandering if now with the change of system he should actually be on our radar now....? If he was fit...would it be a 'Yes' or would others see more than his fitness record as an issue?

Season long loan with an option to buy. On condition that he is straight off our payroll if crocked. Would be worth looking at

I wasn't having a go at the suggestion, more that so many suggestions just get treated with derision on here!

We would be better off, buying a player that is not plagued with injuries. We haven't room in the physio room for any more.

I think it's more of a case of could we get him... Didn't he choose Bournemouth over us last time we tried to sign him on loan! I doubt he is available for transfer either as Arsenal loaned him out, not to sell, but to get back to his best

£10m and big wage cut and I'd take him. Peanuts in today's money and he could play in the No. 10 role, seem to remember him playing there for England a couple of years ago and having a storming game. Alternatively he could sit in with Luka but more of a box-to-box midfielder with Luka to cover. Loan to buy also a good option.

Definitely worth a loan. Was disappointed we missed out last year.

I just cant help but think if we cold get him maybe on a pay as you play deal...be it Loan or Perm then he'd be an asset. I appreciate the injury thing is a big black mark against signing him...but...should he get through that (whether due to better training methods etc) he'd double in value overnight....it's certainly a gamble but possibly one we should/could consider.
