Okja was premiered at the Cannes film festival and was booed at its opening when the Netflix logo played and there were some technical problems meaning the film had to be restarted. By the end of the movie it received a 4 minute standing ovation. It's a great film and was released in cinemas and on netflix simultaneously (on wednesday 28th June) First time Netflix have done that with a movie. It's been labelled the first Netflix blockbuster. That looks like the biggest load of tripe ever!! Movies on Netflix are the worst! Netflix is good for kids and that's about it. I pay for Netflix which hurts me to death, for my wife who loves prison break and any other American dump tv drama and for my kids who like terrible cartoons on there. It seems to me anything decent always misses Netflix maybe it's down to rights and stuff who knows but it's crap and anything on there is either 20 years old or generallly American poor acted trash. Rant over

was released in cinemas on wednesday the same day that it was shown on netflix... was shown at cannes and got a standing ovation there... as for the films on netflix, yeah if the genres and types of film they show are not to your liking then choose a diferent provider, there's loads out there... i don't like a lot of their films on there but this film was a good un. With films it's all down to preferences so im sure there will be loads of people that will slate it but thats the same with all movies.. anyways watch it, dont watch it.. no probs

Beats me, I barely ever bother with the cinema these days. 10-13 quid to watch a movie, in a room full of other people, in uncomfortable chairs, with a long series of adverts. The screen quality is slightly superior, and the sound much better than I have at home, but I can also pause it at home if I need a p*ss or dump, drink a beer (see the previous) and smoke during the movie. Plus I don't need parking, or to get a bus either.

These days, for me, the cinema has become somewhere I'll go for an exception film (usually art house) or to take my dad to see star wars.

Otherwise its DVD (if its something I really like) or it'll be robbed off the internet (the general s**te pumped out from Hollywood each year).

I tend to be fairly impressed with some of the movies Netflix picks up. I think I can like without watching the next instalment of Transformers cash in without disguise.

I'm not knocking anyone that can't afford Netflix. I know a guy that's so poor he had to choose between Netflix and Amazon Prime. It's a sorry situation created by a neglectful government. However, I just thought the reaction was a tad dramatic.
