At only 22 has 80+ premier league games under his belt. Can be used in a few positions like Akč may cost in the region of 15m-20m. Seems surplus to requirements. Fits the criteria of looking players between 21-24. Was quite impressive on loan at m'boro.

While we should consider talent from the Dutch league. I still think that you can't buy prem experience.

What's your thoughts on Calum Chambers?

he'll already be earning sakho kind of wages surely and that means more than the dutch pair we've been linked with.

good player mind, no doubt.

Sometimes you can't buy experience in this league. Yes I love to find loads of bargains in the Dutch league. We need to start buying younger players if they impress sell for a profit.

A very sensible argument. He is clearly a talented footballer, and as you say he's got a lot of prem experience for someone of his age.

Agreed I'd have thought we'd get both Tete and Veltman for the cost Chambers fee and wages.

Also on a personal note, didn't we try to sign him last year and he held us to ransom over wages. Doesn't sound like the kinda guy chomping at the bit to come and play football in SE25.

In this instance I'd rather we go Dutch

Two young Dutch centre halves with no experience in the Premier league sounds very risky. There are not all guaranteed to play like FdB.
They may be comfortable on the ball but first and foremost they must have presence and be able to defend.

Makes a lot of sense. A lot cheaper than Sakho, and already with a lot of PL experience. FdB as a CB himself can hopefully coach him to the next level

Obviously suggested this but it makes sense, get Chambers and JR from Ajax, then that the defence sorted. Hope it a permanent deal if it happens.

Chambers. Dann. Tomkins. Schlupp
For cover
Ward. Kelly. JR (Ajax). PVA

Agree Petereagle.Chambers is also used to playing passing a game.

Think the Sakho deal is dead in the water.

It's just far too risky halting everything over a player we're only prepared to sign if we drag it out to the end of the window. We did that with Benteke but a 1 in 2 proven prem striker is like gold dust, although we shouldn't have relaxed on other positions. Midfielder, left back, centre back.
