Thanks for that. Personally I don't have a problem with Pellegrino wanting the biggest pay cheque he can get. Good luck to him.

That is old news now. Hopefully FdB will be confirmed as our man. It is good to have a manager to get behind.

Why should he be any different to anyone else in football and indeed life!

So what? The man is for whatever reason in demand.

If a club really wants him they pay what it takes.

We could be doing the same....

Oh and don't believe the source. They are ..(insert profanity of your choice!)

Only posted. Didn't see elsewhere. I think it was more to do with what the budget was available.

That's true however. With the want of finding long term manager. A manager motivated by money is a bad choice. There is loyalty in football Eddie Howe and Chris wilder.

I know I shouldn't be swung by the name but feck me it's Frank de Boer!! And he has actually won summat. As a player and manager.

If we were turned down by "water bottle" for extra money then great. This could be the start of a real project for a motivated smart young coach and RdB fits the bill. We need a shift in direction - to youthful players if we're to reduce our annual spend so we can save money for the ground.

Nothing wrong with choosing a job due to better pay.

We all do it.

Why should football managers be any different?

It's more interesting that Southampton have managed to identify and sign a new manager in a week. A month has now gone past in SE25 and we are looking to bring in somebody we are rumoured to have interviewed 2 weeks ago.

For the umpteenth time, Southampton have been looking since at least the last matchday and probably longer. They announced that they were "probably" going to get rid of Puel, and proceeded to treat him with the most disgusting disrespect until they finally decided what they were going to do. They didn't pull the plug until they were confident of getting a replacement. We on the other hand were put in the deep end with no notice.

And I suspect they'll be doing this again before we are.
