For those interested, this is the Philosophy of Frank De Boer.. I found it a very interesting read and exciting for him to come if it happens! And if not, it is still a good read!!!

I suspect we've leaked the offer to force a decision out of Southampton about who they want. I hope we get FDB.

Holy s***! He laid on that goal?

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

I feel a lot better after reading that as I do have some concerns.

Managing Ajax is a different world to palace. It looks like he is flexible vs the bigger teams but he could do with a word in his ear about how possession based football went t1ts up under Pardew, even though Frank looks about 3 leagues higher in terms of tactical nous. Some of those photo diagrams look great, but if the ball is lost then you are bolloxed. Some of it reminds me of how Chelsea can be successful without the ball. Isolating opposition in possession. Very effective, so that's a big plus. I thought Pellegrino would be better. He still may be, but it's good to see evidence of Frank being able to apply effective defending too. 'FDB likes to have his team's defend deep vs bigger opposition.'

People thinking there'll be a conveyor belt of talent out of the academy should calm down a bit. I expect there'll be little change there. Ajax can attract the best youngsters around, we don't. The Dutch league gives you more time and space, the prem doesn't. If all other managers struggle to bring youngsters in with the need for immediate performances and cheaper imported players, I don't see anybody changing our fortunes much until the rules mean other teams have to. Then I think he might excel in that area.

However, can he bring in younger up and coming players from around Europe that are cheaper than the Pardew marquee types or the guaranteed top dollar names? Hopefully. He'll cast a wider net than we've ever had before.

Yep. Delaney could do that, too.

What a goal by the way, one of my all time favourites, absolutely superb.

I know we like the long ball game at times but that is outrageous.

If appointed, I wonder whether he will keep the existing backroom staff or bring in his own team?

You would hope the likes of Sammy Lee would relish the opportunity to work with such a maticulous manager.

I would guess, only because he has been out the game for a while, so probably has not got a possie of followers! However, I am sure he has an idea of who could work with him, but I think he will see what he has first!
