Sam Allardyce what the hell is the matter with you where are your morals? You signed a contract could you really not see this contract through?

I wouldn't be as harsh as the OP, but whatever the real reasons were, he could have given us a few weeks to see a transition through. I'm going to reserve any further judgment until I see what he's doing in January.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

He brought all his experience and expertise to bear, and he saved us from relegation. We owe him a debt of gratitude. At his age he was never a permanent solution . But unlike Pulis he had the decency to resign immediately after the season, to give us as much time as possible before the next campaign. At his age, and with all the stress he's been through during the last couple of years, it's understandable if he's had enough. I don't think it's been said, but I wonder if there's a health reason that's at least a part of his decision . He's in his 60s, he worked like a dog to keep Sunderland up, then the England thing, then worked like a dog to keep us up. That sort of stress level can't possibly be sustainable for a man his age.

I suspect he will take most of next season off then step in to rescue a struggling club and trouser a nice 2 mill bonus again.

I do, and I would suggest you look into the matter a bit further I seem to be alone in wondering whether that article in the Sun represented a great co-incidence otherwise why didn't Sam make reference to a personal tragedy in his resignation statement
