Ive supported Palace 49 years

Ive seen some fantastic players and managers come and go
But it always amazes me how Palace fans can love someone who is very average ( Freedman )
But someone who is brilliant ( Allardyce , Pulis ) they can take or leave ????

Looking through these threads so many Palace fans are ok with Allardyce going , just as they were when Pulis left

Who do you think we are good enough for Klopp , Mourinho , Pep ???

Get real , for the past few seasons we have somehow managed to perform an escape act ~ unless we get someone in who is proven , next season we may not be so lucky .

Why the new thread? It's attention seeking palace fans like you that would rather "implicitly " criticise Parish that are strange. We know he has made mistakes anyone in his position would. He's learning on the job. But if any manager like Pulis wants to take our club for a ride they can feck right off. I remember proven managers like Venables having it off with our finances. We are not "fine" that SA is leaving but we have to accept it. The man says he wants to go chill with his family - unlike some managerial departures SA's statement is unequivocal.

Except It's two days after the end of the old season and after a constructive discussion, not two days before the start of the new one and after a fight. World of difference. One's an old guy who wants to put his feet up and the other's an arsehole who wants to rip us off and sue us for money that isn't his.

There was no reference in the original post to Parish, albeit if I was still "learning on the job" after seven years, I might think it was time to consider whether I needed to review my position.

Allardyce has no less taken "our club for a ride" than Pulis did; it's just the timing that's different and the apparently friendly way in which Allardyce has done it, but the net result is the same. Allardyce is like that girl who writes you a long letter telling you why she doesn't want to see you anymore, but hopes you can remain friends. Pulis is the one who tells you in a one-line text. You may well feel a bit better about the former one, but the net effect is the same; you're still dumped.

How are people making out he decided on the spur of the moment? We have no idea how long he was considering the option or how he was appraising it before he said anything to anyone else.

You're right he didn't mention Parish but I thought it was implied. And you your point Dave, I doubt anyone who has run a new business for only 7 years would call themselves an expert. But by the most important measure he's done alright in my book.

Great analogy but not completely accurate in my view. Pulis was like that bird who is great in the sack but a bit of a wrong un - SA was more of a keeper but she's from the other side of the country and getting on a bit.
