Anyone convicted of causing serious physical harm or risk of death to another person, should only be escaping prison in exceptional circumstances.

Surely the simple fact that she's a violent smack-head with a criminal record would harm her career prospects so what difference wouldavoiding a jail term make?!? Lock her up.

I don't really get it. According to the story:

But whether she is locked up or not doesn't affect whether she has a conviction surely? She has been found guilty (or plead guilty) so her career is surely already at the "almost impossible" stage. So whether she goes to prison or not should be irrelevant to that.
