I have a feeling that we're be playing for a clean sheet rather than playing for the win. Especially with our dodgy defence. With potentially only Delaney and Kelly as our centre backs. How do you think Sam will approach Sunday game.

Hull are not a good side, we should have the beating of them.... That said, we all need to do our bit. Make Selhurst a cauldron!

A clean sheet guarantees a point, set up to not concede but have enough up front to nick you a goal or three then worst case is you've drawn. It's worked for Chelsea & Juventus this season & we've had our best run playing that way.
Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five! |

When you're an Allardyce team, if you want to win the first thing you do is set up for a clean sheet.

The difference in this match to others at home is Hull need to win or they're either down or closer to down. The problem with Burnley was they scored early and say back. As soon as we got near their goal the ball was hacked away, anywhere. The problem with all teams below 7/8th is they all sit back and know we can't break them down. This Sunday we'll be playing to keep it tight when they have to come at us and hit them on the break/half break if you know what I mean (4/5 players behind the ball rather than 11 we struggle with).

Indeed. Play on the counter attack but above all else keep a clean sheet. We've become somewhat cavalier in recent weeks despite the crippling injuries to our defence. From what I've seen of Hull they prefer to counter attack and dare I add lack the imagination to break down tightly knit defences. It all adds up to a nerve wracking wretched afternoon, unless.... Who to

We dont have the players at the moment to set up for a clean sheet. My guess is we have to score 2 goals if we want a win or draw, so we should set up with that in mind. Even if Dann is back he hasn't played in ages and we don't know how fit he is.

Play our normal game, sitting back an looking for a point is a dangerous game, it only takes a moment for it all to go pear shaped.

If ever there was a game that defines BFS expertise this is it. This one game is why they owners selected him since his experience will ensure the correct tactics. We must just trust that he has the correct plan for the players at his disposal. I just hope Swansea drop a point the day before and we can all relax.!

If Swansea draw the day before then Hull still need to win to compete with Swansea on the last day. See point 8 on the last 2 games of the season. We need a draw v Hull or Swansea to lose. I'm not considering anything else until after Sunday.

THIS^ This is the happy difference between this game and Burnley (and other lower teams). Hull need 3 points, we don't. As long as whoever plays in defense is drilled and ready to stop Hull, then this game plays into our style and our hands. If the defense holds up - then we should walk this in for a draw or a win. Note the 'if'.
