For what it's worth I believe we are staying up so this is a hypothetical question.
I would be interested to know what the majority of Palace fans felt if we turn out to be a team fighting for survival every season. Sunderland have been clinging on for ten years.....
To date I'd take that, the odd win against a Chelsea or Arsenal to me is preferable to relegation as if we go down there is no guarantee we'd be challenging for the tittle.
But if this is it for us, year on year, from the yo yo club of my youth to a relegation dodger like Sunderland have been, staving off our inevitable fate, what will we become. Will this Palace rollercoaster we love so much become stale, dull?
Sure there is talk of 'building' and the 'next level' but as Palace fans put your hands up if you believe we will ever reach it.....perhaps we have a five year plan!!
The flip side is we are a yo yo club, relegation followed by a tittle/ playoff final, a return to the glory years of trophies and Wembley!!!
What's preferable?

The aim must be to stay up. We're struggling now having been well and truly Pardewed.

Stay up, keep Allardyce and finish 9th - 14th next season.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Should really be trying to stay up on the cheap and putting £35-40mill or so aside each season toward a new stadium.

As it is we spend every penny of the £125mill or so we get now. A route to nothingness long term.

The aim is to stay up and fulfill our potential and belong in the premier league without even thinking about relegation at the start of the season. That is the aim.

40 points by early April every year would do me. Like Stoke, Southampton etc.

We are still a couple of years off doing this comfortably

Mid table mediocrity with the odd cup run and flirtation with Europe will do me.

That said, seven years ago today I was at hillsborough and that was as exciting and nerve racking as any trip to Wembley.

the dignified don't even enter in the game

Blame Pardew for our current plight, blame Parish for not sacking him sooner, and blame Sam for not writing the Spurs game off and playing a weakened to concentrate on Burnley and Hull.

I take as high as we can be even if it means losing more than winning but I really enjoy being taken for granted and then throwing a spanner in the works which seems to of always been our way.
