The only ones that seem to be concerned with going down and yes we all know and lived the Oldham story but I don't see Bournemouth , Burnley , West Ham or Leicester fans worrying half as much as we are

They haven't known or lived the Oldham story - we have. And none of us trust any reports of us being 'safe' until it's a mathematical certainty.

You obviously don't know any Burnley fans. They are genuinely worried, possibly with reason. West Ham have more to worry about with tax fraud on the horizon. Bournemouth maybe don't have a history of worry, living at the seaside. Leicester worried enough to sack the man who won them the title. Edited by Eewires (27 Apr 2017 2.18pm)

The problem is that Palace fans always try to work out the worst possible scenerio. For example a lot on here, start assuming we wont pick up another point, which has been going on for the last few weeks. Remember all of you who wrote off the Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool games!!! feeling foolish now!!! Then you get the situation last Saturday when Swansea got a rare win!!! yes they beat a very poor Stoke team who should have got a point if Arnautovic had not blazed over. Now all of a sudden they are going to win at Man United and beat Everton at home!!! of course that wont happen, they may win one of those games, but highly unlikely both, which means providing we win one of our two home games against Burnley or Hull, we are safe whatever

It's not fun, it's not good for the health but it IS part and parcel of being a Palace fan.

It's unlikely that we won't/haven't done enough to stay up, but it's not impossible that circumstances could conspire to unexpectedly send us down. Who'd have thought we'd be facing a CB crisis?
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

I'm not too worried, just a little bit. B'fluff fans are a bit worried too. Don't know about the others but suspect that they are too. Oldham had to beat 2nd placed Villa, 7th place Liverpool and Southampton. And, they had to overturn our superior goal difference. If we had lost by 1 goal then we would have stayed up, instead we were thrashed and relegated on 49 points. I'm just a little bit more worried now having posted that.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |
