So, yep there's a thread about how he hasn't put a foot wrong and the pro Sam - from the start brigade - are feeling totally justified in our unconditional backing from the start ... BUT, assuming (and praying) he keeps us up ... what are the chances of him actually wanting to stay with us next season?! Pulis did the dirty and let's face it Sam would probably have his head turned quite easily if a big club came knocking ... which concerns me. If he did go, you couldn't knock him to much as he was brought in primarily to keep us up, which he hopefully will. But do we have enough as a club to keep him?! I sincerely hope so ... Thoughts?

I doubt he'll be going anywhere in the next couple of seasons as he's an acquired taste, has some baggage and won't fancy another relegation battle just yet. If he gets us some mid-table and above finishes, without flirting with relegation, then there may be a bit of interest.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

When I say a 'big' club I just mean a club bigger than us. For example, if Leeds make it up and aren't doing well by late autumn and they came knocking ... then I'd be worried!

He gets a bad press as a Manager that can only keep sides up and plays a certain way. Truth is he has never had a squad before that he can do anything else with.

So you think he'd leave us, with arguably the best squad he's ever had, to get involved with a relegation battle under the ownership of that mental Italian bloke ? Don't think so pal....

LOL ... really hope you're all right BUT this is Palace we're talking about at the end of the day! There'll always be a swerve ball / meteorite, out of nowhere, just when things start to look up!

I know a lot can change in football and that we've long chopped through managers, but I think Palace and Sam Allardyce has at least 3 more years to run.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

What a silly statement. I can see what you are saying if he was going to a 'bigger' club but the scenario you have laid out makes no sense whatsoever!

He is under contract for next season. Unless Palace say otherwise he is going nowhere. He has seen first hand what happened to Pulis when he tried to wriggle out of a contract he had signed. Sure, he was able to leave but it ended up costing him. Plus after the England disaster I don't think SA would want any bad press at this moment in time. When you say 'big' club what do you mean? because if you mean a top 6 club you are in dream land. No top 6 club would touch Allardyce. Below that? An Everton? A Stoke City? We could fight off interest from them. Our owners will give him the money he wants/needs to strengthen in the summer. That's all Allardyce is really interested in. That and allowing him to get on with the job. And of course a competitive salary with nice bonuses written in which I'm sure he has negotiated.
