As Sakho can't play against Liverpool, is our only choice of replacement Delaney or is Tomkins fit yet?

Backery Sako
We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football. |

As Tomkins is a major doubt, it's going to have to be Delaney isn't it? Edited by bexleydave (18 Apr 2017 5.02pm)
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

Tomkins and Delaney hopefully will be the two we go with. I say drop Kelly so we have the balance of a left and right footer

Funny. I've never ever gone into enough detail over the years to find out which foot a centre half is. Fbs and strikers midfielders but never cbs. I commend you Edited by matthau (18 Apr 2017 5.01pm)

I'd be more keen on keeping Kelly going, and the first XI in general suspensions, ineligibility, injuries aside. Only tactical change I'd perhaps make would be bring in PVA for Schlupp. If Tomkins is fit he'd get my vote ahead of Delaney alongside Kelly, and then rest Tomkins for the Spurs game (Sakho and Kelly) and then go back to Sam's first choice back 5 for Burnley if all fit. 3 games in 6 days perhaps too much for a player just coming back from injury. Of course he might not be ready so Delaney and Kelly would be the only real options with an academy player on the bench. Luka will have to be on his game!

I think we may go with 3/5 at the back for this one . As we will know doubt be camped in our own half for much of the game DD Tompkins and Kelly will do just fine in the middle protected by Miloivicicovic (Ill get right one day)

Allardyce thought Tomkins would be back, the options are there: A: Kelly - Delaney I think A and C are the most likely combinations. I would rather see Tomkins and Delaney start together so that when we play Tottenham we have our strongest back 2; Tomkins - Sakho, back together. Kelly's done well coming in but he's not as experienced in that position and has looked at risk of losing the ball in dangerous situations.
