I had to laugh when I read that a survey in the UK found that thirty one percent of Christians did not believe in life after death.

What's the point of being a Christian then?

Based on just over 2,000 people in a telephone survey.
If they answered the questions in the same manner that I answer telephone poll questions, then I am only surprised that the result was that sensible........

They seem to enjoy being very judgmental of others. Maybe that's the attraction.

What it suggests to me is that a large percentage of the population don't really think much about what they believe.....They go along with what they were told to believe in and then just mix it in with various other beliefs they like the sound of along the way.

A consumer society in thought as well as deed.

As I judge them, I'm not willing to be a hypocrite about it.

As long as it doesn't involve violence or not integrating with others I've no problem with groups being judgemental.

I agree. These things are meaningless. And the Beeb, ever desperate for 'news', obediently laps it up. Let's face it, they can't even announce the death of one of their most revered radio presenters without comprehensively f*cking it up.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Like much in the Old Testament, it is viewed as allegorical. Quite a few ancient cultures referred to some kind of cataclysmic flood.

Life after death is at the very core of Christianity.
Impossible stat.
Madness.

Meaningless? 620 people out of 2,000 Christians say there is no life after death and you say it's meaningless.

At the time, everyone else would have wondered why he was building a boat. Until that point, it had never rained on earth.

Interesting discussion and the Bible clearly states that the dead no nothing at all, suggesting no such thing as an afterlife.
