Last night, as I was walking home from work, I really thought: bring it the f*** on. With the relative form of the two sides, this could finally be the moment we not only beat the Ars but actually really deserve to. Well ain't football a fickle mistress. We lost last night because Cabaye went off, allowing them to totally dominate. I know there is an argument for Flamini but, for me, the bloke's legs have totally gone. Not blaming Sako either as we had 3 wingers on so we're never gonna compete. So...assuming Cabaye is out for Monday and JMac not ready to start...how to we set up? If Tomkins were back, I'd be tempted to put Kelly RB and Ward alongside Luka. Thoughts?

GK - Hennessey DM - Luka AM - Wilf We need to batten down the hatches and frustrate Arsenal, sit deep, no space in behind the defensce, no space at all within 30 yards of the goal. Play purely on the counter and try to win set plays. Play for a 0-0.

Ward - Delaney - Sakho - Schlupp Milivojevic Townsend - Puncheon - Ledley - Zaha Benteke I can see why SA selected Kelly yesterday but it didn't work, neither did Sako. I'm not a fan of Ledley but he'll have to do, maybe take him off for McArthur second half. I'm praying that Cabaye might be fit enough for the bench and get on at half time.

I'd consider maybe Flamini for the first half in central midfield, and look at maybe Ledley in as he tires. Old club syndrome and all that. Alternatively, Ward can play a DM role, with Kelly filling in defensively. Arguably we'll be defending for about 70% of the game.

Is that "old club syndrome" that means if you used to play for Palace you'll score against Palace, but if you play for Palace now you'll have a sh*te game against your old clubs?

Alternatively, Ward can play a DM role, with Kelly filling in defensively. When Ward plays in the midfield, he sits waaaaay too deep. Like full-back deep. It's just his natural instincts, so not getting on to him, but it invites the oppo all the way up to our 18 yard box.
We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football. |

Cabaye out, but McArthur hopefully fit, and Ledley back and perfectly fit (he's a better option than Flamini, at least).
