personally I think he is just trying to put himself ion the shop window and you shouldn't read too much into what is said. ‘My win percentage was healthy ... I was let down by transfer dealings’ In his first interview since being sacked by Crystal Palace, Alan Pardew says that loyalty to his players cost him his job but insists he’ll be a manager for another decade, even if his next position may be abroad Matt Dickinson, Chief Sports Writer As he drove to meet Steve Parish in the chairman’s offices in Soho just a few days before Christmas, Alan Pardew did not think he was about to be fired as manager of Crystal Palace. His mind was ticking over with plans, targets, thoughts of staging a recovery.

Think it is fair to say he doesn't appear to have learnt very much from the experience at Palace. But then I don't think he has the capacity to do so. He isn't a bad manager. He will probably do a decent job somewhere else. But there is clearly a limit and the club/chairman facilitated the expression of his ego - they tried to take the club somewhere it wasn't in a position to go. If he can find a chairman who isn't willing to pander to that, then he could succeed.

Deluded beyond belief. 'Got the best out of the players.' All apart from Wilf and Jimmy got worse. Tomkins and Townsend perform immediately after Sam comes in. 'We thought we had good cover at left back, not thinking Souare would be in a car crash. That was an error not getting good cover' or some bollox. What an idiot. The squad was a shambles. 2/3 of his signings were sh1t or sh1t under him till he left and he wanted January to sign/ruin more. It's now known they were poorly prepared and not fit enough to compete in this league. This piece is a desperate attempt for a new job. Any chairman taking a day to research this will end any interest. He thinks the interview is like De Niro and Pacino over coffee in Heat. Is the interviewer sure it was Pardew and not Jordan having a joke? What a pr1ck. Glad he's gone. And that silly poster said he'd be back if we were relegated.

This sums up pardew success in the transfer window It's laughable that he wanted the January to rectify the problems after his disasters in the transfer market.
