Once again it is time for the Magic Number for Premier League Survival, 2017 edition. It is based on how many points Palace require for absolute mathematical safety based on the maximum points one of the three clubs in the soup can obtain if they win out plus one since the MNFPLS does not like ties which require the extra step of goal difference. At this time, Middlesbrough, although 19th, can reach 52 points, meaning Palace require 53 for absolute survival. Palace have 28, meaning the MNFPLS is 53-28=25. Any combination of Place points gained and Boro points dropped adding up to 25 means we don't get relegated.

We only need 2,016 because of our goals difference.
