Bit of a random one, but does anyone live near to Turpington Lane in Bromley and know what it's like?

I am looking at houses and there is a house that is on a road off of Turpington Lane. Having driven through there, the surrounding area looks quite council estate and in the past it was known as a rougher area.

Just wondered if anyone who lives near could give some honest feedback about whether to avoid the area or if it's actually not that bad and is potentially being redeveloped.

There seems to be a few properties that have been bought around there that are now being redeveloped into nicer houses and the agent says it's on the up but I have no idea if they are just saying that.

Thanks in advance

I don't - but I think when Southampton_Eagle is up for the weekend he should visit the area and record it in his Travelogue.

Fortunately, if it is rough, he'll have the hotel-supplied Kevlar vest and will be able to carry out a home-buyer's report whilst only obtaining minor injuries.

Turpington Lane is fine, We walk the dog round there sometimes and its pretty quite most of the time.
Road can get a bit busy with traffic at times as they use it as a cut through but i wouldnt let that put you off.
You dont get many scots round here so it all good

Brings back memories actually, there was always a rivalry, gang fights etc between my mates who lived on the coppice estate and 'The Turp' as they were called back then!!

But as it was a long time ago and we're all in our early 50's, I'm sure it's a nice place to live now!!

I drive through turp to go to the gym everyday, there is loads of council houses over there , we've worked in most of them.
No shops/ pub on there for kids to hang round, it's generally busier round there since they opened the school round the corner.
No where round here really seems rough when you get above teenage. No worse than any estate and any wronguns round there have been diluted by 'trinity village', my sister in law works in the Toby Carvery, the slim blonde one, if you have a meal in there leave her a tip.

Used to know some people who used to live on the 'coppice' in the late 70s. Some of them used to drink in 'chequers' pub in Bickley or the 'Daylight' in Petts Wood.
