Regarding the Boothies, you will remember that the BBC was established to inform and educate. Palace supporters who visit one (or many) of the boothies, can look forward to many fun filled evenings as they write up reviews for trip Advisor.

their new website has gone very s**t, parts of the BBC in general are very good ie 6 Music, but what does annoy me that we have no choice in having to pay for it

They make some really good drama, so much better than ITV. In a world where everyone is super critical they BBC still do a decent job.

BBC News is not what is was (though BBC World service radio and Radio 4 news coverage isn't bad, and we now have 24 hour BBC news TV channeltoo) but imagine how much worse the alternative would be likely to be if the BBC was abolished or privatised...

24 hour news services reduce the quality of news services.

There's plenty I don't watch on the BBC and don't like. But there's still so much that I do like and value. BBC News is still significantly better than the majority of the alternatives for TV news. Radio 4, World Service, 6 Music, BBC 3 and BBC 4, a reasonable number of things on BBC 1 and BBC 2. For the price of a Sunday newspaper a week.

There's more choice than ever with the array of TV, radio and online output. That's the information age we live in. If you can't find your definition of 'quality' it's more likely you've not established how to filter the stuff considered less relevant. The BBC may be flawed, but it's an asset to our national identity and has a pretty thorough and sincere attempt at impartiality. I think some of the archive content available online is brilliant. This wouldn't have been an option even 10 years ago. Likewise the diversity of musical content is both contemporary and relevant. Not being a 'fan' of the content does not necessarily mean the content is poor quality. The content is there to represent a population of 60,000,000. One person is not representative of 60,000,000. Broadcasting is a thing of the past. Narrow-casting ensures far greater diversity of content, and represents our modern society.
