Y Ddraig Goch In The Crowd 07 Mar 17 11.19am | |
---|---|
I don't know whether it is because I am the wrong side of 50 but over the past few months I have started listening to Desert Island Discs while walking my dog. There have been some very good ones recently, David Beckham, Jimmy Carr & Nigel Owens as well as Sir Anthony Beevor. The interviews are not exactly taxing but do offer an insight into the real person and often better than your average chat show. Plus you get some interesting musical choices, I like a bit of Welsh Music but nigel Owens overdid it a bit for me. I have just discovered you can get every single one as a podcast. And yes I realise I wrote Dessert and not Desert Edited by Y Ddraig Goch (07 Mar 2017 11.20am)

We have now sunk to a depth at which the restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men. [Orwell] |

Like you say the interviews aren't exactly Paxman-esque but they do offer insights into some very interesting individuals.

I'd love to go on the radio and talking about my favourite puddings. Might make that my life goal.

Great idea. Could get 4 more episodes a week by having Starters Island Discs, Main Course Island Discs, Amuse-Bouches Island Discs and Cheese Plate Island Discs.
Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry. |
