I see both have been charged with violent conduct following the alleged 'stamp' and elbow incidents. I am intrigued by the fact that there has been no mention (by the FA under the charges) of Ibra throwing Mings to the floor earlier nor him 'stamping' on Mings immediately before (as Rooney was tackled). I presume these are seen as irrelevant but can't help think they'd be on the charge sheet if it were the other way around.

Also, I'd like to see Rooney charged with Bringing the Game into Disrepute - he claimed it was a definite stamp, he was right there and saw it despite video & photographic evidence clearly showing he was facing in the opposite direction whinging at the ref to get the decision. Lying b*****d.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

If anyone gets it in the shorts for this it should be the referee, who made a complete pig's arse of the whole situation and completely lost control. He missed so much he might as well not have been there. The only action he took was to book the idiot who shoved Ibrahomovic at the end of it all and even then he had to be told by Rooney that it was his second yellow card.

Had he acted properly and decisively on the first incident none of the rest of it would have happened. Of course Rooney wad in his ear thrpughout telling him what he should do; how much notice he took I don't know but he should have told Rooney to f*** off and then booked him if he persisted.

Of course he then went on to give United a bollocks penalty as well.

Another fine example of disgraceful standards in Permier League refereeing.

If I'd been on a massive bender just before coming to work and then making a complete pigs ear of it I'd probably get the sack. Friend and Taylor should be pretty embarrassed and shouldn't really be in charge of any games of football for a while.

Seemingly they "played golf" the whole time. Aye, right.

just goes to show how easily the referees can collude and conspire to relegate us!

Can't really understand how anyone can 100% say that Mings meant to do him.

I mean, he probably did, but a split second later he's intercepting the ball. It takes some pretty quick reflexes to perfectly execute a no look stamp followed by an interception in the space of about a second.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

I totally agree. I think he did it but couldn't be certain. However, the retaliation looked deliberate and I expect him to get a 3 or 4 match ban for Ibrahimovic.

Didn't he elbow Cabaye, and get away with it, when we lost to them in December?

From a Palace point of view, I'd be happy for Mings to get a 3 or 4 match ban.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

You don't have to mean something to get done for dangerous/reckless play. He also didn't react after making contact which a reasonable person who did it by accident probably would have done. He must have felt it and tried to act like nothing had happened. Looked pretty guilty. Even if he didn't mean it, trying to execute a long jump over an opponent's head when they're on the floor is reckless and dangerous. Even if he didn't mean it he could have seriously and permanently injured Ibrahimovic. Brain injuries are really quite serious! I think they should both get bans and Mings should be 4 games. Ibra's was not totally dissimilar to the Jedinak one against Wet Spam 2 seasons ago so I expect the same punishment.

I read that the FA were considering Mings' offence to be more serious than Ibra's which I find incredulous.

If anything a premeditated retaliation is certainly no worse than an opportunistic 'stamp'.

Of course I'm biased as I really dislike Man U for the way they seem to get a lot of ref decisions go their way - Marcos Rojo vs us and Everton, Ibra's deliberate handball vs us that setup a goal, Chris Smalling's professional foul in the FA Cup final (albeit he did get sent off) and disallowing Wickham's goal in the same game.

Add this to McArthur's booking for simulation and the failure to penalise Rondon for actual simulation... very frustrating!

Still, it could be worse, at least we weren't on the receiving end like Swansea against Burnley!

Both red card offences. Both should have been sent off. Both will rightly get retrospective bans.

Which is worse? Ibra looks more deliberate. He says that Mings jumped into his arm and there is it would appear no attempt to look around and check if Mings is there, but the arm definitely swings and more than seems necessary. But potentially Mings is more dangerous. He is certainly less in control of the outcome and the damage he will do.

I don't think Mings meant his. He isn't even looking and he has to jump over two bodies.

Zlatans however is revenge and clearly is the more serious of the two.
