Merson has come in for criticism over the years on HOL but let's not forget that he has played around 600 first-team games, has been capped by England and he has been a manager so he does have an insight into various facets of the game.

Unless he's psychic in which cAse can we have next week's lottery numbers then regardless of how many games he's played or whatever he has no more of an idea than the rest of us.

You are talking about predictions and anybody can be right or wrong.You could get a room of pro or ex-pro footballers and there might be widely differing opinions. The point I was trying to make is that there are those being dismissive of Merson as though he hasn't got a clue about anything but by playing approx 600 games, being capped by England and being a manager he has an insight into various facets of the game and can talk on many matters from experience.I actually find him engaging and interesting.
