They have a serious fear of playing at home, the expectation of the boo's at half time I think lead to the 3rd and 4th goals. Do you think the players don't know that was unacceptable? I think in general the fans have been patient up until the Swansea game, we (the fans) were good against Everton, we supported them even in losing. IMO it's ill advised for us to give them abuse, chants directed at them and squaring up to them near the tunnel. The stadiums where the fans become abusive to the players or manager generally go down. I understood the boo's against Swansea somewhat, the effort levels seemed way below par. Today it was errors that lead to their first 2 goals, that's due to confidence; confidence and fear is not helped by abuse. For all the players individual and collective failings, I do not think we as fans should fail to support them; it's only ourselves that we're hurting in the end.

Trying to physically confront the players is idiotic, but 'You're not fit to wear the shirt' when we're 4-0 down against Sunderland in the first half? As Allardyce said to Sky after the match, if anything we were tame on the players.

It probably doesn't help, unfortunately in sport, as in life , if you act/play like a c**t you can expect abuse. If your sh*t at your job you get the sack and are left skint, if your sh*t in a relationship you get dumped and spend a while w*nking. How do footballers get told? They don't get the sack etc, when things are going well they demand a payrise, I don't boo our players. But f*ck em, today they were f*cking sh*t and now they know.

Spot on, agree 100% - never have booed palace, even home to Fulham i didn't boo, but today the reception was 100% warranted. A pathetic and gutless affair

Spineless display. Second half was even worse as they showed no pride. That is the worst I have ever witnessed at Selhurst. I have seen so called less talented players pull on a Palace shirt but never a team that showed no pride. A disgrace. I am so angry.
A new era of total football is on the way to Selhurst Park!! |

For a lot of fans, your club is part of your identity. a deep bond that defines, in part, who you are. Often you have no choice in the matter as it's been handed down to you by family, or forms a connection and belonging with friends. It's why the culture around football means that perfectly sane, sensible and responsible men will shout and scream and shed tears of pain and joy. And it will force some people to feel such frustration that they will confront players. And so, I won't condemn that fella today, because he felt what Damo doesn't. What few players feel Supporting any team is not a job. You don't get to move on to another team. You don't get to shrug off a loss before leaving the changing room, instead you it ruins your week. So, there is every point in abusing players when they're not fit to wear the shirt you care so much about. Because, in part, they are insulting you.

I was clapping the Sunderland players then realised one of the Palace players was still on the pitch so I stopped.
