I don't care how many games we won in 2016 or what state pardew left the club in, there can be no more excuses now. Allardyce has been heavily backed by parish in this window, all positions that we was crying to strengthen have been, we can put out a first 11 worth something like 120 million. It's now upto the players to turn up and allardyce to make sure of it.

I know there's 19 other teams that would have something to say but surley this would be the strongest squad to get relegated from the prem, definitely up there with West ham.

Was a good win tonight and definitely a 6 pointer on Sat, I've always thought we would just scrape it this season but hopefully now it's not as tight as it could have been.

totally agree with this.
So please can we not have any posts about how perdu wouldnt have done so good in the transfer window because we will never know will we.
Its down to sam (and the players)for the rest of this season to earn their money and our respect/support.

Crystal Palace will always have their true supporters support and respect , I think you are talking to the people that just don't like Sam. Nothing you can do about them.
What we do know about Pardew though is that he took us on a run for a year that was so bad we had the worst record of all 92 clubs, and he had no idea of how to stop it.
So best he was not involved in this transfer window.
Unfortunately if we do go down you just cannot write off the circumstances that got us into the problems.
That's not excuses , that is fact.

Just thank Christ Parish wised up and got in a proven prem manager who is tactically astute.
Forget about the 'new manager bounce' nonsense. That never automatically happens with every new managerial appointment. It's one of those football myths.
Allardyce is starting to put his stamp on things. It was never going to happen overnight.
Should we go down you can't wipe out what went on before but we've got a fighting chance now that plum has gone.

Let the Pardew thing go now. He is gone. You don't need to mention it in every post. We know where you stand. Otherwise people might mention all the players bar one last night are Pardews. Sam has been working on them and we have won one game. so, fingers crossed, he is turning it around.

I was replying to the thread starter. As I've said before, should we go down you can't erase what has led up to it.
There are far too many on here still giving him the benefit of the doubt. Even though he's gone!
I'm just balancing things up a bit.

It seems like we reacted to being in the relegation zone last night. Presently it looks like we are in a six horse race to avoid relegation with Middlesborough and Leicester joining the pack.

We have made some fantastic signings in the window and we now look like the strongest of the six in the pack.

The win against Bournemouth was significant because 5 wins and 2 draws should be enough to get us to safety. We still have Hull, Sunderland, Leicester, Middlesborough, Watford and Burnley at home to come. These games should hopefully get us close to 36 points.

So yes, I agree, no excuses. Hopefully none will be required.

Totally agree with Rikz, with the new signings and a win under their belt it is up to the players to earn their wages and the fans respect.

The new manager bounce football myth isn't doing Swansea any harm. 3 wins out of 4 with a manager who has no premier league experience.
Undoubtedly we've got worse under BFS but hopefully now the corner has been turned and we can move in the right direction.
The club has backed him massively now he needs to do his bit.
Incidentally whilst it helps to keep clean sheets you don't necessarily need one to win a game - Swansea's 3-2 win at Liverpool for example.

As I said though, the new manager bounce doesn't always happen.
As for clean sheets, no you don't have to keep one to win a game obviously. By the same token, if you're going to concede goals then make sure you score more.
Unlike the 5-4 beating we took from Swansea.

League titles are won with clean sheets and a good tight defence. Notice the trend?

If you don't concede many you will stand a chance of a draw or win. That sets Sam and Pulis apart from chancers like Pardew. Always watch results come in and you'll notice the quiet draws from these types of experienced managers. They last. 3-2 type managers do not. Opposition managers have loads of options to beat them when going over their recent videos.
