8 bids but how many do we need?

Obviously 8 bids doesn't mean 8 new players. With schlupp through the door, probably seen as a replacement for the departed bolaise. A homesick cabaye and mandada supposed wanting out. Left back is definitely a position that needs strengthening and a commanding midfielder is a must. Would schlupp plus 3 others be enough. Would love hear how other fans feel how many we need? At a minimum: Left back Centre back Defensive midfielder/midfield general Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Allardyce talked about 1 or 2. I mentioned that I felt we needed 5 and I haven't changed my mind. But what the hell do I know ?

However most teams are only able to strengthen to the extent that resources permit - hence promoted clubs have it so tough because by definition most promoted squads are of championship quality I think we need more than what we will bring in. The challenge for Allerdyce is that the squad's confidence has been shot to bits under Pardew. The quickest way to mitigate that would be to bring in in new and less damaged faces. A RB, CB and LB were essential in my view and would be my absolute minimum. I would also like to see competition for Punch's role and we are also a striker short but that isnt going to happen

Over there he signed THREE players in Kone,Kirchoff and Khazri and he kept them up thanks in the main to Defoe. I feel we need more than THREE so perhaps the job he has taken on at our club is a lot harder ! LB and RB are essential, as is a DM Kelly should not be anywhere near the first team I'm afraid and the jury is still out on Fryers for me. Once we have those in, and only then, we need an upgrade on Punch- someone who will take a game by the scruff of the neck and make things happen through the middle. He just doesn't have the skill set to do that. We're far too one-dimensional, always trying to spread things wide. We need someone with that consistent killer pass- Benteke is far more than a 'cross from the wings at all cost' target man and adding that would make us far less predictable and easy to defend against. Maybe Remy can play that role, but long term we need a Sigurdsson type player. If Swansea do go down and we manage to get out of this, he would be right at the top of my shopping list 'Impulse' advert- Advertising campaign whose slogan is expected to change in the light of Rajiv Gandhi's assassination: 'If someone you don't know suddenly offers you flowers- run like f***!'

A left back and Defensive Midfielder if we are to stand a decent chance of staying up. I'd love a keeper and an attacking midfielder but 4 seems to many for a January window. The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years

Full backs have been a problem for us since promotion. We haven't had someone capable of playing well at this level consistently yet. We also need a CB that isn't bereft of confidence and utterly shattered. A CDM is also ideal. So I think 4 needed.
