For me this sums us up at the moment we are neither one thing or the other. Do we think Sam is the man to get us back to what we do best and does he have enough time to successfully organise us to keep us up?

Leicester last year were basically us from 13/14 on steroids; less possession but ruthless attackers. Whilst I'm not sure this is the route we must go back to completely, I think we should embrace aspects of that play style. I think Allardyce's pursuit of more attacking full-backs is a positive move.

There is an in-between, something more like the football we were playing for the first half of last season. Sam needs to get us back to that, but perhaps with more threat coming from the full-backs (Jenkinson, Sclupp/Van Arnholt/Evra) or playing 2 up front. Edited by Mad4palace (17 Jan 2017 12.39am)

The 'entertainment' aspect of our season is OVER. We need to stay up to fight another day. I don't care how ugly it looks.

Taylor era was like watching paint dry! But then the freedman era seemed to be don't concede and wait for Ambrose to score a worldie then came the season of relying on wilf and yala conjure up those moments! I think going back to the point we need to be able to see one clear way that we are trying to play and at the moment we are caught at a real cross roads! Like I say the players are there, the spirit, morale and attitude aren't. I think the rot had set in under pardew I just hope that we don't run out of games in big sams quest to shore us up defensively and turn our season around!
