I know we don't want it, and I certainly hope it doesn't happen. But... - He is now a fuller player than before. He creates chances, challenges back, scores (wonder) goals. And all this would happen whilst earning more! If you forget you a Palace fan for one minute and review his position objectively, I don't think we could argue against a move. And I think we owe him the chance now. When a footballer looks back at their career they will have wanted to have won things. And Wilf is good enough for that. I think it would be unfair to deny him that chance (he must be emotionally drained trying to win us games to be continually let down by team mates). Let's hope all managers forget about players in the African Cup of Nations (out of sight, out of mind) He is just too good for us Footnote: Last nights goal reminded me a little of the Moses overhead. And look at him now! (although it took him a while to get there and I think Wilf is far more ready)
Now here's Wright, his first chance to see what he can do, and he's through, it's Wright, ohhhh what an impact by the substitute. And it's Ian Wright who's sent the Palace fans into ecstasy! |

He is our best player but then we don't have a premier League standard squad. He's not an amazing player in my opinion but he's doing better this season. He has a Lot to learn still and he won't get much better playing for us. He's been linked with Spurs and Liverpool? Liverpool wouldn't be a good move but Spurs would. He would get game time and they will make him reach his full potential. He won't go this month but unfortunately he will go in the summer. Bolasie went for £28mill? We should at least get that for Zaha.

In the meantime he's contracted to us and has a job to do, which I expect him to get on with when he gets back from the AFCON. Apart from anything else, his all-round game isn't quite so highly thought of outside of the rose-tinted glare of Selhurst Park and, if he wants to hold down a regular place at a 'bigger' club, he still has some work to do.

The problem with a lot of fans (ours in particular) is that they think their players are better than they are. Zaha is a case in point. Yes, he scored a wonder goal yesterday, but other than a couple of wasted crosses and a couple of fouls on him, he was invisible for most of the game against the bottom side in the division. And that's why he hasn't been called up for England. Now he's gone off to Africa in a huff and leaves us short of payers for a month or so. Yes. he's improved this season, but he still needs to improve his decision-making. Perhaps a bigger club would suit him, but it could be another Man Utd for him.

We let Bolasie go last Summer, and now you want to let Zaha go? That is like a Knight going into battle without his sword and shield. Why not sell Dann, McArthur and Puncheon too?

I don't want to sell him. And if we did, wait until the summer at least. I am simply looking at the situation objectively. From my point of view, I hope he never goes. But, if you were Wilf's advisor/best mate, etc, I don't think that view would be shared.

We should try to keep him for the season. Even if we do have to pay him Beneteke like wages - if we can. But I think he'll be off to either Spurs or Everton.

I agree and don't want him to go BUT he really needs an attitude adjustment. Last night he was having a go at Ward and others - and at the Chelsea game he was lucky he wasn't booked. He will get fouled, but he needs to rein in his anger a bit, especially when referees don't protect him, when has shouting at any ref ever made him change his mind? Plus - as good as he is - he does still lack the wherewithal to pass/cross/shoot rather than try and beat the whole opposition team. Hopefully a month at the AFCON and the three league games (at least) that he's out will allow us to at least bring in someone else so we have cover.

This is heresy. CPFC is a glowball brand. As the song goes: "We're by far the greatest team, the world has ever seen" Legends do not lie. You have insulted my religion and you should be burnt at the stake.

I don't think there would be too many tears shed if Puncheon left.

He does where his heart on his sleeve sometimes and while he may not be the most natural leader on the pitch at least it shows he cares and was trying to wake the team up. Plus his reaction to scoring was good.
