Is anyone who sits in the lower Holmesdale able to shed any light on the incidents between Delaney and the fans at HT and Cabaye and a section of fans at FT? It seemed to me that both lost their cool, which suggests that some fairly severe abuse must've been dished out. A shame really as the fans and players relationship over the last few years has been closer than I can ever remember, but Cabaye can't exactly shy away from the fact he's had a stinker of a season to date and in my opinion Delaney is no longer good enough for PL football.

I am afraid it was kicking off in the Moan Stand as well. Too far away from me to see who it was...but Joel Ward was being abused by some guy. You could see the look of disappointed on Joel's face.

Just my opinion but i think Damo has lost his heart for CPFC since Pardew ripped the spine out of the team > Jedinak, Bolasie, Gayle, Murray. 4 players who all fought for this club and instilled that in others, I think Delaney probably feels this.

Wardy was fetching the ball for a throw just before you get to the family bit and some bloke in a blue coat, possibly a Palace one was giving it, as if it was him who was the reason for all this.

Agreed. None of the players are concerned of any of any of the enforcers in the team because Jedinak's gone and Dann is mute. If any of them f*** up, bottle challenges, don't battle their marker etc then it doesn't matter. They'll get an offer elsewhere if we go down. referring to Benteke, Townsend who I'm really facked off with and Cabaye who is more interested in verbals everywhere. I wish someone just put him on his &rse so he concentrated on what he's supposed to be good at.

There were a few Nescafe shakes from a few fans halfway up the lower at FT to Cabaye and he was pointing down at the tunnel to offer them to fight over there. If that mouthy pussy who probably can;t fight anyway actually concentrated on playing football well like in the 1st half at Watford then he'd be proud of his performance and not resorting to that, or mouthing off to opponents constantly every week. Tonight it was their keeper for no reason I can think of. Usually it's when players are getting spoken to by the ref and he's safe, or when an opponent is there to stop the player hearing his bollox from grabbing Cabaye by the throat. I really liked the guy when with MacArthur for half a season but since then I'm really disliking him more and more as time goes by.

Cabaye does get upset and have seen him lose it like when dele alli sly fouled him last season... but he was fighting tonight (probably should have got booked first half for one tackle) and was more mobile and creative than some! You're complaining about him being a pussy etc but when he stands up or shows passion/aggression you berate him anyway - why?! Personally I think he needs someone with more energy around him like Lee (more effort and more effective in cameo at Arsenal than any other player) rather than Townshend or Punch who seem so static and slow going forward. As for Delaney he didn't seem to do anything different to normal (ok reading game and tries hard but bit slow and not great passer - diagonal long balls) so not sure why anyone would single him out or have a go at him?
I long to accomplish a great and noble task, but it is my chief duty to accomplish small tasks as if they were great and noble. |

He did fight tonight I agree but how many times in the last year has he played well? How many times has he had an argument with players? Every game. Often it's not even anything to do with him or anything worth even arguing about. He gave Cresswell some abuse when he was red carded. Sad. That's an example I'm giving, along with the kind of stuff you get away with in the professional game but in an amateur game he'd be punched twice a week. One game a month or so ago he came on as sub and within minutes he's arguing with someone. All billy big bollox instead of concentrating on being a good player, which he obviously can be. Maybe the little Scottish lad playing better than him and on half his wages does more than we appreciate.

I sit in the Lower Holmesdale, and my take on the Delaney incident was that he was reacting to the widespread boos that the whole team were getting. It didn't appear to be aimed at him personally. I have to say that in 50 years of going to Selhurst Park, I can't recall a Palace team receiving that amount of hostility from so many people. And frankly tonight they deserved it. If you can't play creative, attractive football ok - but at least have a scrap - they weren't even up for that.

DD got close to a fan in the lower Holmesdale and just held his finger to his lips and shook his head - possibly because of the booing or maybe something specific was said. Cabaye seemed to react to one of the HF and was pointing to the tunnel as if to suggest "taking it outside". Apologies if it was not a member of the HF, but he came running along from that end of the lower Holmesdale with one of the banners - so appeared to be from that section. Personally I wouldn't boo the team - but I certainly felt and understand the frustration of those that did. Aside from a few points in the game and for the 5 minutes after we scored, the atmosphere was very flat, which is unlike SP but again I can understand why when we are served up that dross for 60 of the 90 minutes.

Cabaye did gesture to have it over at the tunnel but it wasn't the HF but someone more in line with the goalpost on the HF side and 20 yards and higher than the HF. Cabaye couldn't fight Damon Albarn and he should remember people travel everywhere to watch them let us and themselves down for 12 months. To watch our premiership future slowly slip away without a fight? What do they expect? Us to accept it, then move to Southampton or wherever and all to be ok. Fvck them. They need to have a sit down together as well as the manager to iron their sh1t out. Edited by Rudi Hedman (04 Jan 2017 9.30am)

Must have been bad if it was worse than the end of Peter Taylors days in charge, with Hefty Kuqi and James Slowcroft up front...
