Relegation odds

Rather surprised to find we are only sixth-favourite for relegation with the bookies. They must have faith in Big Sam. Heavy favourites are Swansea, followed closely by Hull. The good news for us is that Swansea have a terrible manager and Hull have no transfer funds. But who is third favourite? The bookies say Sunderland, who have no money either, but Moyes seems to be doing a reasonable job. Burnley and Middlesbrough are both rated more likely for relegation than us. So if Swansea and Hull need miracles to stay up, who do we favour for the third place? I think it has to be Sunderland...All of this matters so that we know who to root for in matches between the relegation candidates.

Whoever puts a run together will get clear of the pack. If we can't win the 3 pointers we therefore stay in the danger zone. Still too many needless freekicks around our box and soft defending. Also have to take the chances that come our way. It's in our own hands

Sunderland are on a run though and I think it could be one of quite a few to go down with Hull and Swansea - sadly that includes us, I thought both teams were really poor yesterday, so probably even Watford are at risk.

Forget games against the top of the table as we may not even get any points from them, however we do have to play Hull, Swansea, Sunderland, Middlesborough, Burnley, Leicester and Watford at home so if SA can sort our defence we should be OK. OK our home record is woeful but we now have a new manager so fingers crossed.

Then nick one away win and four draws, and we are on 38 points which is usually enough. I think Hull and Swansea will go down with far less, so we need one of the other relegation contenders to have a bad run too.

Burnley have played 10 at home and 8 away. At home they have won 6 out of 10 but away they have been dire losing 7 of their 8 games and drawing the other one.

Hope your right but do remember that West Ham were relegated in 2003 with 42 points, so to be sure our target has to 43 or more!

We got relegated in the early 90's with 49 points, which I believe is slightly more points per game than West Ham (42 games played then rather than West Hams 38 . Edited by Bexley Eagle (28 Dec 2016 3.41pm) Edited by Bexley Eagle (28 Dec 2016 3.42pm)
