Heard from a source (who I've said many times has been both right and wide of the mark, so don't shoot me) that this is a done deal. Wants to play in the premier league, was considering Sunderland but his relationship with Allardyce has swung it. Free transfer too, a powerful DM who'd be great alongside Jimmy Mac!

Some Russian club but reports from there are saying he's renewed his contract. In other words my 'source' is a dick! Haha.

It's been claimed on the BBS, he signed a new contract with his current club. So we shall see.

Looks like I owe my source an apology. Big Sam does want him and is keen to trigger an 11m release clause. Contacted my mate who couldn't talk for long but said we'd have to sell first. Serious interest from abroad for Cabaye. Wonder if he will be sacrificed.

New info-ish. Around Christmas he told me Allardyce had secured him on a free. Then, very soon after the player signed a contract extension at his Russian club. I turned the air blue. Haha. But to be fair, it seems the interest is there but my mate doubts we'd get him without movement out the club due to FFP. But he's a journo, not a club contact so he knows no more about our financial situation as you or me.

I would take him as he could be the steel in midfield that we need, even if it means players leaving the club to free funds. (Not too sure about Cabaye going though, he has started to play well, but M'vila is younger and the type of player we need) Played well for Sunderland on loan IIRC, and almost went there permanently in the summer.
