It says a lot for some of the idiots that we have on here, making snap judgements about Big Sam. Have a look at the link below. They think we have a high calibre manager now. The guy can adapt his tactics to the players he has. He can be pragmatic like he was at Sunderland, but he can also mix it up (remember at Bolton when he had Okocha, Campo etc)

We have exciting players, but he will make sure we bloody defend!!! Is that not important??!!!!

Why is Allardyce not the correct man for Palace then? Come on, I long to hear your view on the BFS appointment?
He will probably do a great job for us, however would like to hear your take on it?

i think he'll be good. hopefully a similar record to the one he had with england.

on another note, i think this is the first time in my life that both of the teams i support have appointed the same manager within a few months of each other. nice.

This is none of my business, but our Welsh friend didn't say that Allardyce wasn't the correct man for Palace, so I don't know why you're asking him to justify a view that he never stated. He was simply criticising you for calling people who didn't agree with you idiots.

Sorry, I see now that it was Glaziermart who talked about idiots.

Good post. It was Hitler who stated that 'the masses are ignorant'. And so we have such to suffer on these boards. The results will prove their weak-mindedness, as what happened with their 'Super Alan Pardew's' results. Big Sam is a Christmas blessing for CPFC. The perfect gift. If we'd had lost him to one of the bottom three teams below us and ended up with a 'Mancini' we'd have taken their place in the bottom three and gone down. A Mancini type is what we'll hopefully require after Sam has resolved us in the PL, in maye two more seasons. Again, good post, it's not rocket science to some of us, and a Merry Christmas and Happy 2017 - COYP!

My view is that going for Allardyce showed a lack of strategic thinking by the board. We seem to be going through all the usual managerial suspects.

I would have preferred one of three things

1) a more inspiring long term choice
2) if we were going for an old hand - Hodgson
3) whether Hodgson or Allardyce, a shorter contract. With a view to getting a long term a manger in.

I think FS will keep us up, I think that like Dowie, Pardew and many others he will have a big impact to start with. 18 months - 2 years down the line? We will see.

As a person I don't like him, I think there is a strong smell of corruption around him, that said, I never particularly liked Pulis, Warnock or Pardew as people.

Nice that we have a manager who a north-eastern club likes, instead of the one who a different north-eastern club hated.
