I expect to be vilified for criticising fan favourite and first name on AP's teamsheet, but love of the shirt and Nandos is no longer enough. Punch wastes free kicks, has stopped scoring, floats corners into arms of oppo's keeper, gives up possession lightly, gives away unnecessary free kicks and generally flaps around pointing at everyone. Please go to a Championship club in the window and leave us with memories of goals at Wembley and v Norwich.

Harsh. He had an off day and I too wanted him substituted earlier. Usually our most creative player, the stats after 10 games showed he'd created more chances than anyone in Europe except Neymar. In essence, he's class but lacks consistency, and since being pushed back, goals.

Wasn't great yesterday and was struggling with an injury before he came off - but he's one of our most forward-thinking players and we look much better with him controlling the game. I do think that an attacking midfielder, along with a left-back, should be a priority in January - but getting rid of Punch would be stupid.

Ridiculous thread. He has still been one of our best players. Ashley Cole even said on Sky that Punch should have been considered for an England squad place by now

I believe he has created more goals than any other play in the team. Vital player for us, always has been since he came in - Ok, he's not Zaha or Eden Hazzard, but he is a premiership class player who has proven himself again and again. Even on Saturday he had a decent game.

Very poor Saturday. Gave the ball away countless times and missed our best chance. But please explain why he keeps being referred to as 'one of our own'? We are his 12th (I think) club. He didn't come through our academy. Just because he used to live near the ground does not make him one of our own.

If he's from a 5 minute bus journey from selhurst he's one of our's, as long as pictures of him in Arsenal shirts don't start surfacing. Unlikey to be Chelsea seeing as they were shyte when he was a boy and predominantly supported by white bald men with a carling in their hand. He was on our books. Don't know how long but he was. He looked leggy today and even if he was dropped for a better incoming player he'd be a good back up. Better than Mutch and Lee.

Had trials, I think it was when he left MK Dons but it never worked out. I like Punch, slows things down a bit too much at times but has been very good for us. I do find the one of our own chant a bit odd though.

Wasn't his best game, thought he started well but tailed off. Still rather him on the left than Townsend at the moment.

He has to up his goal ratio. For a number 10 and as one of our attacking players it is appalling. Seven or eight per season should be a minimun requirement

Seven or eight per season should be a minimun requirement I'm not being funny, but our top scorer has had 7 goals all comps for the last 2-3 seasons.. so you are in absolute dreamland if you think any of our current crop are suddenely going to bang that many goals in regularly. Let's concentrate on getting Benteke more than 15+ before that eh...
