Defended well in both games this week against 2 star studded in form sides. Need to carry it forward into January. Left back and solid holding midfielder a must in the window. Jordan Pickford would be nice, might take the odd cross or two. Could try offering Newcastle a swap Dwight Gayle for Andros Townsend. Time for Mutch and Chungy to ship out.

Agree mutch should go, but Chungy is a good squad player. Thought he played well against man u. Townsend should definitely go, for whatever reason his performances are terrible.

We were okay in the first 45 minutes but offered nothing in the second half and never looked like scoring - epitomised by Townsend's woeful free-kick.

yes the performances appear better but is that because we have nothing to loose ? No pressures in these games , we are always going to get beat it's just by how many.

A much better performance the team seemed far more balanced against Man United with the exception of the substitutions, I thought we had possibly turned a corner. With the Chelsea game today, there was very little between the teams in the match apart from the last 20 minutes, what we lacked in quality we made up for with commitment. Remember this is a team now unbeaten now in 11 games and have been scoring for fun. Its not changed my mind and I still believe that Pardew is not the man to take us forward, But cant see any change coming before the end of the season, We are now sitting in 17 place 1 point above relegation. But somehow I feel we will get out of trouble.

2016 = Worst team in the football league. Much better today and the better side for long periods. Better pass accuracy and more passes than Chelsea. End product was never going to be as good, but Wayne played well.

We were so ponderous in possession in the second half. We actually had 57% possession against a team like Chelsea. Staggering!! But we have lost that zip. That pace to hurt teams. We are sleepwalking to relegation. Yet this is probably the most talented team any of us can remember. It is incredible that Pardew is still in a Job

We were poor today. Like against Man Ure, we hoof the ball up to Benteke, he in turn loses it as he's isolated and lo and behold Chelsea are on the attack again. If we keep letting teams come at us then eventually they're going to score aren't they? Yet it's the same mindless tactics-or lack of them-that is costing us in every game. Pardew is paid to motivate and select the correct tactics, he has only been successful six times this year. Nothing against the man personally, he just doesn't know what he's doing and we're the ones suffering. Sam Allardyce will turn this sorry situation out. We have a talented and experienced squad who are capable of much better with the right man at the helm.

Never got Zaha into the game in the second half, Puncheon kept coming inside from the left which left the right-footer Ward to try and whip crosses in from the left flank. That said we were never out of the game and this week against two top sides we have only lost to both by a single goal, which is much better than many had expected.

The real problem now is that we've forgotten how to win games, hold on to games, grind out results or sustain a run in this division. Cantering towards a relegation spot which we will struggle to get out of unless we change something & sharpish!!!

It is incredible that Pardew is still in a Job ..couple of defenders are a bit suspect and full of low confidence, since Southampton and especially today there has been an improvement in form, Kelly looked good today going both ways and just hope and wish he keeps that up, we have injuries to two important players for the rest of this season, both needed at both ends desperately and I mean desperately because our second string will get us relegated in a flash, so with all players back to health including Dann who hasn't yet recovered on the pitch from his injury then yes this team is good enough to survive very well, but as it actually is now then it will remain where it is now out of the relegation places.
