I thought damo was fantastic 2day. He is the main voice on the pitch. I personally think Scott Dann, is not a good enough captain. Also why did it take 6 defeats for pardew to change the defence. Would like to see your views on Dann captaincy?

I agree, Good player but not vocal enough for a captain, Delaney made a major difference, As the centre of defence Dann & Delaney IMO are the best pair we have, I didn't think Tomkins did that bad at full back either

Totaly agree. Damo was the difference today, nothing clever just does what it says on the tin.

And Ledley does the job no one sees. Filling the gaps, does the dirty job properly and plays it simple. Underrated.

Agricultural but effective. Exactly what we needed. We needed someone whose main strength is defending and his presence helped. Lovely, simple block on Austin in the 2H.

Pardew's changes to the defence were excellent to be fair to him.

Yes! DA-MO, DA-MO!! He (and Macca, and Puncheon's awesome second half) was great. Damo was the first to the blocks and clearances, has a great understanding with Dann and the backs and is the heart and soul of the team. At last, he's back in and long may he stay.
And, fair do's, dead right re Joe Ledley, quietly doing the biz in front of the back 4. Full marks to the bearded wonder - Jedi would have been proud!
Now do that at Hull. And (though a dream) stick it right up ManUre...

Pardew always had this in his armour(Julian,Delaney,Jedi,Ledley), but chose to ignore/demote them.players that knew what it ment and would fight for this club.Strong characters that pardew does not like, but is now reliant on to pull this team together.I now hope he sticks with them player who roll up there sleves and want the fight.

I've been generally quite critical of Ledley, but I too noticed this about him today - I thought he was terrific today.

But maybe 5 games too late with the changes that have been forced on him by the embarrassment of conceding so many goals recently

Pards recognised this when we went two up. He was chatting to Damo over by the bench and was stroking his hair lovingly like I would my my two year old son, whilst talking to him. Was most pwrculiar.

Damo was, is and always will be a legend.

Led by example today - brilliantly.

Would take nothing away from the rest of the team: they all put in a great shift, just that Damo was exceptional.

And to think I nearly didn't go today, after suffering the circus at Swansea - just proves: keep the faith!
