Taking the pardew debate out of the equation. Think most people on here know how I've felt about him for some time. Even with a replacement whoever it may be - how much of a hole are we actually in? Got such a bad feeling the damage already may be done, we look absolutely all over the place.

Huge trouble. Are defence is absolute shambles. We don't have a Left Back and teams are trying to exploit that on every possession. Now we've lost Wickham for 6 months maybe a year with a Torn ACL.

We changed horses at about the same time in the 13/14 season. Our squad now is significantly stronger than it was then.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Now some of the dust has settled I have been trying to make some sense of what we witnessed this afternoon. In short it is difficult to do so.

There is a suicidal naivety in our play whereby we can't maintain an advantage. It was bad enough at Burnley when we couldn't play out for a draw, but today, for heavens sake we were winning and still conspired to lose in the dying moments of the game. Our defence is nothing short of shambolic and we will definitely go down without some radical action.

At the same stage last season we had scored 14 and conceded 13. This season having played 13 games we have scored 21 and conceded 26. At this rate we could go down as the highest scoring team to be relegated from the Premier.

If we keep d1ckhead in charge then big trouble. As long as we change it now there is loads of time for a new manager to sort it out

But how many times can you get away with it? 3rd time lucky?

This time we didn't lose through being gung-ho though. We lost because we really cannot defend the high ball at the moment and continually give the ball away under pressure.

With a new left-back we'll have a pretty strong squad. The problem is management.

If somebody comes in to organise the defence we have enough quality going forward to get results. Just very disappointing after the changes made in the summer and the positive words coming out of the club, that we are in the same situation as the second half of last season.

In other threads people have mentioned letting Jedinak go. He wasn't a regular in the team by any stretch, but I think he was a strong figure in the dressing room which we are now missing. I certainly wouldn't have wanted to face him if we'd lost.

We're not in that much trouble yet. You can coach defending fairly quickly, particularly from set pieces, but you can't as much coach scoring goals. We're plenty good enough at the goals part. If someone gets a sodding grip of what's going on at the back, we're fine.

Who that is and when they get the chance is the next question.
