According to a BBC African football correspondent.

Guess we'll lose him for African Nations Cup. Fantastic.

Couldn't he just wait until February? That tournament is every other year anyway and Southgate might have seen sense by then.

Maybe that's why he wasn't in the last squad; he'd already made it know to the England camp that he'd be choosing Ivory Coast? Just me speculating as there was no good reason to pick Lingard or Townsend over him.

I don't blame him at all, being behind Townsend in the pecking order is beyond me.

No surprise. England have treated Zaha appallingly when any neutral wouldn't begrudge him earning his chance after outplaying most of the sh*t that do get picked.

He's done better this season in terns of assists but still too often makes the wrong decisions, and his finishing is still abject - perhaps that's why he hasn't been picked for England. Nonetheless, it will be a major blow if we lose him for four games in the new year.

What Tosh. After watching Wilf week in week out there is no way i would have him in the England Squad. We get the odd bit of brillance but how many goals does he score? How many assists does he create?.How many times does he lose the ball or put in a cross that hits the first man? Would wager that most clubs think they have a player that should be playing for England.
