Why on earth did Super Al swop Benteke for Chungy ?
We were playing well, looking like we might even win the dann thing, ten minutes left.
Man City must have been delighted to see Benteke go.
All due respect to Chungy but he hardly has the presence of Benteke.Although once again both goals came from down right slack defending, and I was surprised to see Kelly come back on in the 2nd half.
Where's that panick button ?

After the equaliser City targeted Kelly time and again and he was getting no help from Wickham, so Pardew pushed Punch out there to help him. We didn't even get hold of the ball after the equaliser, so it was IMO the right thing to do. Hindsight great, but the sub didn't cost us the goal, rank bad concentration, once again did. Also I felt Kelly could of faked a clearance and won a goalkick rather than kick it out for a corner, but it's fine margins.
Just my opinion.

Disagree mate. If your trying to win the game you'd keep Benteke on for his goal threat, over chungy.
If you're trying to hold onto a draw you'd keep Benteke on for defending set pieces , over Chungy
Again just my opinion.

Once Benteke was withdrawn City had one less major threat to deal with.It have them the impetus to go for the winner.
I've given Super Al a lot of slack but his tactical decision making is to me very baffling.
Why for example was Kelly allowed to continue in the 2nd half when he looked like he'd never seen a football before in the 1st ?

because other than 1 header he had a very quiet game, connor was full of confidence and chunky is a very direct player.

i wish people would stop being dicks and looking for any reason to slate him.

maybe he was also responsible for papas car crash, ww2, and the great fire of london.

grow up

I can't really fault AP for todays game, Kelly mucked up in the lead up to their goal. The second goal was a lapse in concentration. Now, ultimately the gaffer needs to take the blame as it's his team and ultimately the defense doesn't seem to be clicking with whatever he is trying to achieve.
But the way we were set up, it looked good.

exactly.

i know we lost but we were actually the better team over 90 minutes. if we were turned over on a regular basis i would be eorried but were not.

weve got the players for it to click soon, and we will go on another decent run

It's nothing personal against Kelly ,but it must be obvious even to the most die hard Palace fan that he is not the most accomplished defender, and today he had an especially awful game and should have been taken off for his own sake as well as the team's.
