… at the moment eh?! Is it me or do you feel a little flat about supporting Palace currently? Is this what happens when you maintain continued Premiership safety (!)? Is this really what we have been aspiring to all these years?!

Just a few thoughts that contribute to this morose feeling that surrounds me constantly at the moment:

1) We have the most expensively assembled squad in our history but still don’t know what formation to play!
2) Staring down the barrel of playing Man City and most of us resigned to getting absolutely nothing from the game!
3) The feeling of hopelessness, when some suggest we sack Pardew only to be ‘reminded’ that there are no viable alternatives!
4) No confidence in any of ‘international’ keepers!
5) Squabbling amongst ourselves constantly about where we should expect to be after a 4th season in the premiership!
6) Worried about the final fixtures in the business end of the season!
7) Looking back at recent performances and realising that 5 game run we had – where we didn’t lose – was nothing more than sticking a plaster on a gaping wound!

That’s a list of problems right there but let’s talk about solutions to them?! What do we do?! Is it enough just to have faith in ‘Super’ Alan Pardew or is the problem even bigger than him and his gargantuan ego?

Despondent from Beckenham!

Strangely I'm not that negative about the team. I want a different manager, my choice Sean Dyche, otherwise

1, best squad we have had in years, managed correctly will produce results.
2, Man City are a top class side and could batter anyone. If we get pumped then so be, Swansea and Hull are far more important games.
3, Good candidates out there, don't believe the craziness
4, I'm sure Mandanda will be a decent keeper with good management
5, Agreed with this. The BBS pardew in or out thread is carnage. (Premier League btw)
6, End of the season is a big worry but if AP is still there then it probably won't matter.
7, We have lost games we needed to have won and we are as soft as cotton wool. Again properly managed this won't be the case.

"...managed correctly...with good management...properly managed" says it all really.

Should have also added:

No real evidence of true camaraderie / team spirit in the squad anymore .. what is our footballing philosophy these days?!
9) No real leaders on the pitch anymore .. who can pick things up by the scruff of the neck on the pitch when we’re under it (which is more often than not these days) …
10) No suggestion of what our plans are for improving the stadium in the near future

We are properly lost at the moment and we've lost our identity and are struggling to find a new one.

Arthur Wait was the man. Parish is good but he's no Arthur. I thought back in 2012 that if we somehow survive and for a few seasons at least when we get relegated again by 2018 we will have a sparkly 32,000 seat stadium to show for our journey.

Ain't going to happen, is it?

The Championship will but Parish's legacy won't. Apart from making 30-40 footballers millionaires. He'll be a hero to them.

Yes and no tbh.
No, because we're in the top tier and playing against some of the finest players in the world regularly.
Yes, because for years i'm not used to mid-table mediocrity come March/April. It's different.
