After only 6 games, the bookies have named Sunderland,Burnley and Hull as favourites for the drop this season, with ourselves at 14/1.

Yes, but perhaps the chilly east wind of relegation may blow on Middlesbrough before it reaches Burnley. Never thought Burnley would beat Watford last night! Edited by Henry of Peckham (27 Sep 2016 8.40am)

I agree with the above regarding Middlesbrough. I really think they will struggle. I am entirely neutral regarding Boro, I don't wish relegation on them for any reason, but I can't see them surviving. I also think Sunderland will go down (easy to say when they are on 1 from 6, I realise). Other than that the other team to drop would be either Hull or Stoke for me. Stoke should have the experience to stay up but you never know. I genuinely don't see us going down, but wouldn't rule us out of the occasional flirt with the bottom three, especially if injuries come along. Sadly I don't think West Ham will be anywhere near the drop by the end of the season either. I also think Burnley will survive.

I want Bournemouth to get relegated. I feel a bit indifferent about Bournemouth just like Middlesbrough. Have you got any reason for it? Not that you need one. Sometimes I want teams to go down and have virtually no reason. I like to see teams go down that have had prolonged spells in the Premier League purely because it mixes it up a bit. I was glad to see Villa go down but only because they'd spent so long in the top flight. As an aside, the turnover in the Premier League has actually been pretty good since it was formed in 1992. I'm sure someone will tell me the exact number, but I think something like 48 or 49 different teams have played in the Premier League in that time. 48 out of 92 teams in the top 4 tiers isn't bad. EDIT: Brighton are in the minority Edited by Part Time James (27 Sep 2016 9.18am)

The moral of the story is that it's too soon to tell as anything can happen in the next few months

With Middlesbrough (who actually aren't currently bottom three) I think they'd have to do quite a bit to bring themselves up to standard. I'd happily be proved wrong though, I wouldn't begrudge them survival. Of course, all of this is conjecture. It's like the Grand National, even the favourites can be taken out by an obstacle.

Meanwhile, if Pardew gets tapped up for the big job, I have no idea what will happen to Palace. Who could we get to come in? Bruce, Hughes/Allardyce, Friedman? There's an ocean of awful choices, so let's hope it doesn't come to that.
We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football. |

I think the three named in the OP plus Middlesbrough and Swansea (auto correct turned Swansea into Sandra which I actually quite like) are the main contenders.
