I imagine that all of the members of Unite are delighted for Len and hope he enjoys his flat.

For rank hypocrisy, it ranks alongside Arthur Scargill's deal with the NUM on his Barbican flat.

That's the world we live in.

Flat bought as an investment and will be sold within a year of Mccluskey leaving. He's not going to keep it.

Funny, I'm sure you were one of the ones complaining about Bob Crowe living in social housing.

Hmm.

Think that's the point.
An investment is something a person will do to make themselves monies.
He has borrowed some monies, to help make himself even more monies.

Do you think they would lend me, or you, or more importantly any of there so called 'union members' £400,000?

No, that was just as bad.

@Matt

One day you'll realise (maybe?) that politics/party colours really don't matter. You, along with the rest of us, are being shafted. Why not make a post about 'Austerity Measures' next time as this relates to every one of us (surfs) paying for the mistakes (cough cough) of the wealthy.

You're a clever fella. Open your f'kin eyes and stop dicking about with irrelevant crap, attempting to score meaningless friggin' points. You're better than that..............imo.

The flat has been bought by unite for Len to use. McCluskey does not own the flat.

A shared arrangement according to the paper.

It a non story if this is something that the union offer to all of its employees but doesn't look good if only offered to its leaders.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

No, it's his name on the deeds according to the article, but Unite have a legal charge against the property.

I'm normally near the front of the queue for union leader bashing, but I can't see an awful lot wrong with this.

McCluskey and Unite both appear to have stakes in the flat, for the duration of his time as leader, after which time it is sold. No different from any shared ownership scheme really.
