I know AP seems pleased with the work done but if nothing else changes is it really that goo a window for us?
Of the 25 man squad that has had such a woeful run in 2016, 7 have gone (either released or sold for a combined total of approx £43 million) and 5 have come in for about £50 M.
We have obviously (in my opinion) brought in greater quality with the front 2 and in the worse case like for like with Mandanda, Townsend and eventually Tomkins.
No creative midfield player...? No replacement for Jedi?.... 2 bodies lighter in an under performing squad?
Have we done enough?

you might raise some valid concerns but at this stage all I'd say is that there's still over 5 hours left.

It can sometimes take years to clear out the dead wood and bring in upgrades. Yes we have done well. Other positions need strengthening but we have done well nonetheless

Why try to assess before it's finished?

Will traffic on the M25 get Wilshere to change his mind?

Who was that player half way on their way to Brighton but changed their mind half way through.

Provoked by the Wiltshire thing I guess...

I guess it highlighted for me best made plans and intentions from where I think we are can make a huge difference.

I agree if we get 1 or 2 more but thats why I posed the question "if"

Also AP saying if we get no more he will be happy...

The key question is do we have a stronger squad to start this season as compared to last season ? If so it has been successful. You can go on to argue that we could have made it an even stronger squad but that just might not have been possible for reasons over which we had no control.

Clearly a successful window. Sure, there are some issues with squad depth but we cannot do it ALL in one window.

Of good first team players we lost (Jedi and Bolasie): the first wasn't going to get that many games and is getting on a bit. The latter is a bigger loss but we got silly money for him (plus he wanted to go). Gayle we got 10million for which is profit and I don't think we were actively seeking a sale for him.

Players we have signed: Benteke: clearly a class player and in a position that we have been desperate to fill for donkey's years. Remy on loan is cracking too; gives us depth, plus, as it is loan with option to buy, if he's crap we get rid, good we sign a solid player!

Tomkins: needed another CB and West Ham fans seem to rate him so probably a good signing. Need to see him play some more before judging.

Townsend: Clearly a super player and will play quite a lot. Offers greater goal threat than our other wingers even if he doesn't have some of that 'eek' factor that Zaha (and Bolasie) has.

Mandanda: his years in France show he has a good record. French international. Likely to play for them too now that Lloris is injured. Looked very good I thought against Bournemouth. Another signing in a problem position.

Anyway, to think we would have Benteke, Remy, Townsend and Cabaye in the same team! Cracking window in my book, even if we haven't solved ALL our problems.

I agree with your last point.
Sky sports just said Benik Afobe at Bournemoth is Jack Wiltshire's child's godfather (can't really compete with that!)
