Has to be Peter Taylor for me, followed by Trevor Francis. There are other candidates: Ernie Walley, Kit Symonds ... Kember and Hart both saved us in our darkest hours, but both were bloody awful - brutal, ungrateful but sadly true.

Won 3 Drew 3 Lost 3 is decent fro a caretaker Hart, Won 3 Drew 6 Lost 5 not brilliant but not bad given the circumstances (I assume you remember the circumstances?)

No I don't remember the circumstances but I've just remembered that Peter Taylor was actually a very good manager and I've probably eaten something that's gone off, I'll make more sense tomorrow after I've had a lie down.

To contradict myself, the ratios don't always tell the full story of course. I appreciate the circumstances in which some of these people found themselves managers weren't ideal. Keith Millen is one of the managers that has a 0% win rate (in two of his spells), but I doubt anyone would boo him for it. In my years as a fan, I remember Alan Smith's second spell seeming pretty poor. Also Hart and Burley who were managers during a difficult period for the club, but still think they'd have done badly anyway. Funnily enough, I didn't realise Trevor Francis had such a bad win ratio. I don't remember him setting the world alight, but at the same time his name wouldn't have come into the frame from my somewhat cloudy memory.

Peter Taylor. Normally a Manager leaves a legacy but Peter left f*** all. Mind you Trevor Francis wasn't far behind but at least he signed Andrew.

Trevor Francis for me. Only manager I've openly 'bollocked' in public. A tip of the cap to Peter Taylor though for some truly woeful football. I still shudder when I see our team all standing on one side of the pitch during goal kicks.

Was Keith not in charge for the win at Hull before Pulis and the win at Walsall (Cup) before Warnock.?
