With the Euro's coming up, you might have noticed lots of free bet offers being given out by the bookmakers. These free bets can actually be turned into money by placing bets on all outcomes of a football match by using a method called matched betting.

You can currently get an amazon kindle book for free called Matched Betting Made Easy that will teach you all about it (Up until 14th June):
[Link]

You can also see a 4 minute video on youtube that will teach you a bit more about it to see if it's for you or not:
[Link]

Finally, there is an example that is updated regularly that you can just copy and do for yourself:
[Link]

In this example, you place 3 bets totaling £25 (2 x £10 bets and 1 x £5 bet). You bet these on Both teams winning and the draw so whatever happens you win 1 of your bets. You also get cashback and access to £60 worth of free bets for placing these initial bets, that can be used to guarantee you a profit.

Before you comment badly (If you haven't heard of this or aren't already doing it), I encourage you research the links above where you will see articles from The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Lad Bible and the Daily Mail of people who are making a genuine second tax free income from this.

The Euro's are a great time to get involved and turn your share of free bets into money if you aren't already doing this!

You can make abut £10 on the 1st bet and then you get free bets from the accounts you've just started. You then either bet normally and win or lose like in reality or you bet on all 3 outcomes and win probably between £10 and £25. This happens until you've registered with every online bookie.

Don't believe the testimonials saying people have made £10k, £20k and in one case £40k. It is bvllsh1t.

After you've registered with all of them, there's very little risk free betting although the link says there's 31 online bookies so you possibly could earn £300 or £400 but then it stops.

You get the odd tv game which gives you a matched in-play bet after you're already registered with a bookie but it's often the only bookie offering it.

Hi Rudi,

Yes, I am also skeptical that you can make £40k!

Even an extra £300 or £400 during the Euro's would still be quite nice.

Have you done it all before then it sounds like?

I'd imagine it works out as quite a nice loss leader for gambling sites, as by the time you've signed up with 31 bookies, and placed something like 93 bets, you'll have either become interested in online gambling or addicted to the next 'sure thing'

This could be true Jamie...

Most matched bettors that I know don't ever gamble. Just exchange the offers for money.

But I guess there would be some people that do this. I guess the advice would be, if you think you might do this, then be cautious in getting started with matched betting in the first place!

Early rounds of the Euros is the best time to make money, forget matched betting.

I've turned a tenner into £140 so far just by betting on the favourites to win in most of the games.

Switzerland was 2/1 to win against Albania!
Yesterday I did a double on Poland and Germany and that was just over 2/1 too.

The early games where you have teams like Portugal Vs Iceland or France vs Albania are almost sure things and it's amazing how quickly you can quickly go from a tenner to a decent amount by just continuously placing your winnings on the next favourite in these early rounds.

Given Englands defence, I would say BTTS in every game they play is a great bet too!

If you know what you're doing it is perfectly reasonable to expect to make £1000+ from sign up offers. The problem is that the people who know what they're doing already have an account with every company, hence why there is now a sub-market of people paying others to open betting accounts for them.

In terms of offers for existing account holders though, there are probably three worth noting in this tournament; Paddy Power, Boylesports and Bet365.

Paddy Power are selecting one game a day where you can bet £20 on a team and for every goal they score you get a £5 free bet. If you don't fancy the team enough to let it ride, it can be offset by laying the same team on Betfair for a nominal loss (usually 30-40p) and hoping the free bets accrued will make it worthwhile.

Alternatively, and slightly riskier, you can offset the bet by backing the other two selections at Boylesports in the Double Chance market. They are doing an offer throughout the group games where all losing bets are refunded as a free bet (up to £25) if the bar is hit throughout the game.

You're probably risking a fiver doing it this way but stand to £30+ in free bets if the team you fancy win and the crossbar is hit.

Finally, Bet365 have the best offer of the lot but I think it is only on the England games. They do a recurring offer where you bet £50 on the pre-match and £50 in-play and if the in-play bet loses, you get the money refunded as actual cash, not as a free bet.

This is significant as it allows you to back over 0.5 goals on the pre-match and a first goalscorer in-play. The only possible scenario you lose is in the event of a 0-0, but by having £5/6 on the 0-0 at another company in advance, that is the only money you can lose. Effectively for the cost of a fiver, you are getting a free £50 bet on a 1st goalscorer (or whatever else you fancy).

Looks like i'm not the only matched bettor here then!

Coral have a daily £10 free bet offer as well, to add 1 to the list.

I'm a sports trader / odds compiler mate so I figured that if I'm going to spend all day looking at the odds anyway I might as well make some cash from them.

Haven't seen that Coral offer but will have a butchers. To be honest any offer like that is worthwhile if you just back and lay it immediately!
