This would provide excellent competition/ back up for Jedi and McCarthur. Hope it happens

Good young DM, either him or Mason I'd be happy with, Mason seems to have bit more about him going forward.

Don't know enough about him to say yes or no. Did he play regularly for Spurs?

Exactly what we need - confident on the ball and can find a pass.

Get him and Mason I say...and Son if he's unhappy

That would definitely help us make the transition from Jedi, Ledley and Punch (i'm not suggesting we get rid of these 3 just that we must plan for the inevitable).

Add Lewis Cook from Leeds to this and we'd have a much stronger and composed looking midfield - exactly what we need and would improve Wickham and Gayle no end.

Midfielders Out - Lee and Mutch

A couple of years ago when Cook was only 17, Neil Redfearn his manager at Leeds said he was old beyond his years and nothing fazed him.Skilful player but likes a tackle.

I wonder if this is mostly due to the fact that Mousa Dembele was injured for parts of last season? not sure - just guessing.

I think they had high hopes for him before this year, I think last season (15/16) Poccetino wanted to go a bit safer with Dembele and Dier. I think Benteleb sometimes can be a bit riskier with the ball.

Both Benteleb and Mason have been injured quite a bit last season. If they could recover their pre-injury form then we could have two outstanding young players on our hands (not that I am getting carried away of course!)

Looks like Spurs are willing to sell, as this feature makes clear, he has a lot of leadership qualities in addition to his excellence as an alround midfielder

THis is what my journo Spurs mate sent me re Mason. He has had a season ticket for 10 years and knows his stuff.

"Don't expect him to be a holding player of a midfield general. It's not his game and Spurs stuck a square peg in a round hole because we had no one else. He's a great athlete, needs a bit of freedom to be able to burst forward and support the attack. If he's given a run in the team and gets his touch back then he has a great range of passing, not shy in front of goal either. 5mil well spent if you are below the top 6."
