Been linked before and deal is being worked on apparently. No link, just what I heard last night from someone who has come up trumps (and fcuked up) before. Don't shoot me please, just passing on what I've heard on the transfer forum. For what it's worth this player is on the bench a lot at fiorentina, not sure he'll add to the quality.

As I have said in the past I had a feeling for this guy when we were first linked to him years ago. We seem to have a record of getting players a fair while after we were first linked with them (Wickham for example and the recent re-interest for Caulker). Other players we have been linked with Slimani and Batshuayi were players who at the time were rumored to be valued at 15mill are now being talked about at 25-30mill which I think puts them out of our price range. Think this one could be being pursued by Palace

Supposedly looked at him in January but Fiorentina refused the sale. May well have legs. One issue might be the ANC assuming Senegal are in it and he is picked ? Looks like that he has never played for the full team so shouldn't be an issue. We don't want to lose too many players mid season.

You never know with papertalk rumours but it might be that Palace are preparing a bid for Babacar, and (wild speculation on my part!) may be are also planning to bring in one more decent striker (since Chamakh, Campbell and probably Adebeyor will be leaving before next season)

have to say i am sceptical about this lad. 23 and cant even start for Fiorentina, surely will be an effort to try and take this rough diamond and help turn him into something better. Feel as though it could be a gamble
